Awreo**)k i SFWMD ENVIRONMENTAL LABORATORY <br />architecture - engineering West Palm Beach, Florida <br />ACAI was commissioned to provide com- <br />plete Architectural services including Facility <br />Programming, Site Planning, and over- <br />all Architectural Design and Construction <br />Documentation for a new Laboratory Building <br />for the South Florida Water Management <br />District, <br />This project involved the design and devel- <br />opment of a new 2 -story, 36,000 sf facility <br />based upon a Basis of Design Report (BODR) <br />and site configuration studies completed by <br />ACAI, as well as compliance with the Districts <br />Standards. <br />The $9 million facility consolidates and central- <br />izes five ecological and water quality groups <br />associated with the management and protec- <br />tion of South Florida's coastal resources. The <br />new facility includes state -of- the -art modu- <br />lar laboratories, staff offices, sampling and <br />environmentally controlled storage facilities <br />designed around a central 2 -story atrium. <br />We were later selected to provide Construction <br />Administration services for the construction of <br />this new Environmental Service Laboratory. <br />Our scope of services included assistance <br />during the bidding phase, review of shop <br />drawings, responses to RFI's, attendance at <br />bi- monthly construction meetings and con- <br />struction observation. <br />This project was designed using sustainable <br />design principles and has recently been desig- <br />nated as a LEEDO Gold building. <br />architecture engineering <br />roofing consulting <br />construction management <br />
