This is a task that is given importance and commences very ear- ly in the design process. Applying state-of-the-art technologies, WA is com- pletely automated for design, programming, drawing documentation and production, project manage- ment, scheduling, specification and construction administration. WA uses Newforma Project Center which is a file manager and email manager that com- bines all project related correspondents in one place to reduce risk and save time in the management of email, searches, markups, meeting minutes, project files, record documents, images, file transfers, action items and more. WA has the capability of establishing project specif- ic FTP/Client Portal sites for specific projects. The FTP Site can be used as a depository for plans, re- ports and calculations for the purpose of providing secured access to the city, the WA Team and con- sultants working for the city. A Client Portal in New- forma is not just a depository of plans, calculations and reports, but it can also be a management tool for the city. The Portal can be set up to provide no- tices to the city when a permit application has been submitted, when regulatory agency RFI’s have been received and when the consultant response was is- sued. In addition, project schedules can be posted to the portal as well.
