ARCHITECTURE
ENGINEERING
PLANNING
INTERIOR DESIGN
CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH RFQ NO. 15-04-01
NEW FACILITY AT 18080 COLLINS AVE.44
BROWARD COUNTY
NORTHWEST REGIONAL
LIBRARY
Coral Spring, FL
Client
Broward County
Services
Programming/Planning
Architecture/Interior Design
Mechanical Engineering/HVAC
Electrical Engineering/Lighting
Plumbing Engineering/Fire Protection
Civil Engineering
Cost Estimating
Construction Administration
Project Cost Dates
$8,600,000 1999-2001
Description
The Northwest Regional Library for
Broward County, is a 72,000 SF, state-of-
the-art facility characterized by its striking
shape along a sweeping curve across the
entire front of the building creating a bold
statement that stands by itself.
A strong response was to create it’s own
identity with the presence as a “regional
library,” in a site shared with another
project. The building is a two-story,
concrete structure with “public” areas
defined in the first floor, encompassing
areas for children’s reading, children’s
workshop, and teen/young adult’s area.
The second floor was designed for more
specialized reading, and geared for more
mature patrons.
