AECOM RFQ No. 15-04-01 <br />City of Miami <br />College of Policing <br />Miami, FL <br />Key Personnel: Scott Tao, Doug McKenzie, Greg Ault, <br />Ovidio Rodriquez, Orlando Hernandez, GustavoSantana <br />The College of Policing is a unique partnership <br />between the City of Miami Police Department and the <br />Miami-Dade County School Board. The complex will <br />house state of the art training facilities for the police <br />department as well as a 450 student magnet high <br />school focused on law studies and forensic science. <br />Located on a 1.60 acre downtown Miami site adjacent <br />to the existing police headquarters the facility will <br />have its own entrance while being connected to the <br />existing headquarters at the second floor. <br />The police facility is designed to be used by local, <br />regional, and international law enforcement <br />personnel. The new building lobby will share the <br />entry plaza with the existing <br />headquarters and provide <br />secured access to a 200 seat <br />multi-purpose auditorium <br />with simultaneous translation <br />capabilities. This auditorium is <br />designed to be available to the <br />local community for after hours <br />use. <br />The building includes a gymnasium, locker rooms, <br />defensive tactics classrooms, and space for the SWAT <br />team. The ground floor also includes a 14 position <br />indoor firing range designed for static and dynamic <br />training and angled shooting between the 2nd and <br />10th lanes. The range will utilize an inclined wet <br />system bullet trap and is intended to accommodate <br />pistol, rifle, and shotgun rounds. Eleven multi- <br />purpose classrooms are provided for police recruit <br />and in-service training. The facility also includes <br />an emergency operations center to support Fire <br />and other city department as well as an adjacent <br />dormitory area with 16 person capacity. <br />Client: <br />City of Miami <br />Contact: <br />Frank G.
