Russo,City Manager
FROM: Susan Simpson,Cultural and Community Services
Director
DATE: 6/18/2015
RE: Fourth Amendment to Agreement with Unique Charters
for Transportation Services
RECOMMENDATION:
This item is presented for your consideration.
REASONS:
The City's Cultural and Community Services Department offers day
camps for when school is not in session to serve the socialization and
child care needs of the community. Field trips to various venues
throughout Miami-Dade and Broward County are planned and require
large capacity transportation.
Through RFP Number 11-05-02, the City awarded a contract for
transportation services, motor coach rentals, to Unique Charters in
2012 which included optional renewal terms. The City has utilized the
services of Unique Charters for the past 3 years and would like to
renew for a fourth year as the original agreement provides. The
estimated expense for this agreement is not to exceed $50,000.00.
• This expense is offset by the revenues collected from the camp fees.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
For this summer camp, the City sought to save money using other
companies that offered a lower rate. Their service was found to be
unacceptable for our needs.
FUNDING SOURCE:
Funds are budgeted for and available in the general fund Parks /
Pelican Park budget.
ATTACHMENTS:
Description
•
Resolution
Agreement
Item Number: 10.P.
•
http://sunnyisles.novusagenda.com/AgendaWeb/CoverSheet.aspx?ItemID=1687 6/11/2015
