Summary Minutes:Regular City Commission Meeting May 2I,2015 City of Sunny Isles Beach,Florida <br /> Susan Simpson reported that we had went out to RFP for this service. Elite Tent Company <br /> provides a great service and we use them for all of our events. We have been going event by <br /> event where it is about $23,000, and we need to spend up to $40,000 to get through the end <br /> of this fiscal year. <br /> Public Speakers: None <br /> Vice Mayor Gatto moved and Commissioner Levin seconded a motion to approve the <br /> resolution. Resolution No. 2015-2419 was adopted by a voice vote of 5-0 in favor. <br /> 10J. A Resolution of the City Commission of the City of Sunny Isles Beach, Florida,Approving <br /> an Agreement with Shorty's Bar-B-Q, Inc. for Catering Services for the City's 18th <br /> Annual Anniversary Celebration on Sunday,June 7,2015, in an Amount Not to Exceed <br /> $28,870.00, Attached Hereto as Exhibit "A"; Authorizing the Mayor to Execute Said <br /> Agreement; Authorizing the City Manager to Do All Things Necessary to Effectuate this <br /> Resolution; Providing for an Effective Date. <br /> Action: City Clerk Hines read the title,and Cultural and Community Development Director <br /> Susan Simpson reported this is our last option to renew with Shorty's with the RFP that we <br /> went out for before. Shorty's Bar-B-Q provides a great service, they are quick, and have <br /> good food. This is a request for up to 3,000 meals, we may reduce that but we want to have <br /> the ability to go up to that if we need to. <br /> Public Speakers: None <br /> Vice Mayor Gatto moved and Commissioner Levin seconded a motion to approve the <br /> resolution. A Resolution of the City Commission of the City of Sunny Isles Beach, Florida,Approving <br /> the Third Amendment to the Agreement with Development Counsellors International <br /> (DCI) for Public Relations Services, in a Total Amount Not to Exceed $42,800.00 <br /> Attached Hereto as Exhibit "A"; Authorizing the Mayor to Execute Said Agreement; <br /> Authorizing the City Manager to Do All Things Necessary to Effectuate this Resolution; <br /> Providing for an Effective Date. <br /> Action: City Clerk Hines read the title,and Cultural and Community Development Director <br /> Susan Simpson reported that DCI is our PR Company to promote the City as a tourist <br /> destination in partnership with the Sunny Isles Beach Tourism and Marketing Council. It is <br /> our last renewal option, and they have done some great work for us in the past. Their <br /> $40,000 contract plus some reimbursables is an eight-year program. Most of you saw the <br /> report last year and for those of you who didn't, they got us $1.62 Million worth of <br /> advertising equivalency for our $40,000 investment. <br /> Public Speakers: None <br /> Commissioner Levin moved and Vice Mayor Gatto seconded a motion to approve the <br /> resolution.
