9 0 <br />D. Commissioner Iglesias noted that the traffic study being worked on by the Department <br />of Transportation would be available in three weeks. Commissioner Iglesias asked <br />that we invite someone from the DOT staff to make a presentation at the February 26, <br />1998 City Commission meeting. He also reported that Miami -Dade County was <br />implementing a Public Safety Board. <br />E. City Manager DiPietro reported there would be a public meeting of the City Manager's <br />Advisory Committee on the Police Chief selection process, Monday, January 26, <br />1998, at 3:00 p.m. in the Sunny Isles Resort Association. <br />F. Mayor Samson reported that Miami Shores had offered to loan the City a speed <br />detection/display machine to discourage speeding. He also requested having Collins <br />Avenue stripped. <br />11. REQUESTS, PETITIONS & OTHER COMMUNICATIONS <br />A. Iry Diamond reported that Gold Coast Cable Company indicated they will televise our <br />Commission meetings if the City wanted it done. Mayor Samson expressed the <br />concern that if our meetings were televised, people would stop attending. <br />B. Irving Kamlet suggested the City consider using receptacles similar to those used in <br />Aventura. <br />C. Don Stewart questioned who would empty the trash receptacles. Mayor Samson <br />explained that the City would hire a public works employee to do it. <br />D. Armand Roche offered that in Canada horses wear diapers. He expressed concern <br />about public safety with speeding on Collins Avenue. He also congratulated the <br />Manager, Mayor Samson and Commissioner Morrowfor their help with beach access. <br />12.
