RFQ No. 15-08-02 <br />Construction Management at Risk for Government Center Annex at 18080 Collins Avenue 47 <br />Legal issues arise as an ordinary course of doing business in construction companies the size of Kaufman Lynn Construction. <br />Kaufman Lynn Construction strives to resolve all disputes during the pre-trial stages; prior to or at mediation/arbitration; and <br />before the actual trial begins. Our commitment to resolving these matters as they arise places us in a unique position in the <br />construction industry of having a minimal litigation history. <br />All material arbitrations, administrative hearings, lawsuits, or criminal proceedings brought within the last five (5) years identifying <br />Kaufman Lynn Construction, Inc. as a party are as follows: <br /> <br /> <br />KAUFMAN LYNN CONSTRUCTION, INC. V. G.O’BRIEN CONSTRUCTION, INC. AND AEGIS SECURITY <br />INSURANCE COMPANY: <br />Kaufman Lynn Construction advanced funds to supplement, correct, and finish work performed by G.O’Brien <br />Construction, Inc.(Palm Beach County, Case No. 2015CA7809) on the Allegro Senior Living Project in Boynton Beach. <br />Kaufman Lynn Construction is seeking reimbursement of funds to provide supplemental forces. The amount for <br />reimbursement totals approximately $1.2 million based on information available to date. <br /> <br />KWOIN CONSTRUCTION CORP. V. BERKELEY REGIONAL INSURANCE CO. AND KAUFMAN LYNN <br />CONSTRUCTION, INC.: <br />Originally filed in Broward County (Broward County, Case No. CACE14012216), this matter was sent to arbitration. Kwoin <br />Construction Corp was seeking payment for work which Kaufman Lynn Construction successfully argued was already <br />part of its original scope of work and price totaling in excess of $40,000.00. Kaufman Lynn Construction was awarded <br />$2,000.00 for reimbursement of correcting certain work performed as well as its attorney’s fees.
