City of Sunny Isle Beach Proposal to Deliver a Cultural Master Plan <br /> Brent is a musicologist focused on twentieth-century American composers and on arts policy. <br /> His paper"Why Where? Because Who—Art Venues, Spaces, and Tradition"was published last <br /> year by The James Irvine Foundation, he wrote liner notes for the Boston Modem Orchestra <br /> Project's recent recording of the music of Reza Vali, and his research on John Cage appeared in <br /> American Music. He is a member of the Steering Committee of the Cultural Research Network <br /> and was a Lecturer in the music department at Dartmouth College in 2014. <br /> Prior to joining AEA, he was Director of Research for Mark Bruce International, and served as <br /> director of Music For Tomorrow, a volunteer-run not-for-profit that supports New Orleans jazz <br /> through performances in New York. Brent received his B.A. in music from Dartmouth College <br /> and is a candidate for a Ph.D in musicology from Indiana University's Jacobs School of Music. <br /> Laura Casale <br /> .
