Approval of Minutes for the January 15, 2008 Historic Preservation Board Meeting: <br /> Action: Cassey Gabor noted a typo on page 3,third sentence in last paragraph,delete the second <br /> "that". <br /> Cassey Gabor moved and Philip Chemoff seconded a motion to approve the January 15,2008 <br /> Board meeting summary minutes, as amended. The motion was approved by a 6-0-1 <br /> (Bonita Shoki absent) vote. <br /> 3A. Update and Discussion regarding Sunny Isles Beach Fishing Pier (aka.Newport Fishing <br /> Pier). <br /> Action: Chairperson Masters introduced City Manager A. John Szerlag who reported on the <br /> status of the Newport Fishing Pier, noting that this item is on the April 17, 2008 City <br /> Commission meeting agenda. City Manager Szerlag introduced the City's Consultants Edwin <br /> Mojena and Ramone Soria from Marlin Engineering,and Cultural and Human Services Director <br /> Susan Simpson, and he presented renderings of the projects. <br /> City Manager Szerlag noted that the Fishing Pier will be our first successful public private <br /> partnership with Dr. Comfeld. The Pier will have a 5,000 square foot restaurant on the east end, <br /> with a catwalk around the restaurant, and an area for an observation for Ocean Rescue and the <br /> Police Department, and in the restaurant area there will be Ocean Rescue offices. <br /> Summary Minutes: 2008-0415 HPB Mtg Page 1 of 4 <br />
