• BOND AS A"QUALIFIED TAX-EXEMPT OBLIGATION" WITHIN THE MEANING OF SECTION 265(B)(3) OF THE INTERNAL REVENUE CODE OF 1986, AS AMENDED; AUTHORIZING THE PROPER OFFICERS OF THE CITY TO DO ALL OTHER THINGS DEEMED NECESSARY OR ADVISABLE IN CONNECTION WITH THE ISSUANCE OF SUCH BOND; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. ACTION: City Clerk Brown-Morilla read the title of the proposed ordinance and City Manager Neustadt read his report on the item. Public Speakers: none Vice Mayor Morrow moved and Commissioner Kauffman seconded a motion to approve the proposal on first reading. The motion was approved by a roll call vote of 5-0 in favor. AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 98-45 & 99-60 WHICH ADOPTED AN OCCUPATIONAL LICENSE TAX PURSUANT TO CHAPTER 205, FLORIDA STATUTES (1997); AMENDING SECTION 5, ENTITLED TERM OF LICENSE AND TRANSFER;AMENDING SECTION 11, ENTITLED OCCUPATIONAL LICENSE TAX SCHEDULE TO AMEND SAME PROVIDING FOR TAX REDUCTIONS, REVISIONS, AND CATEGORY ADDITIONS; PROVIDING FOR INCLUSION IN THE CODE, FOR SEVERABILITY, AND AN EFFECTIVE DATE. ACTION: City Clerk Brown-Morilla read the title of the proposed ordinance and announced the item was a public hearing. Code & Licensing Officer Chris Steers introduced the topic, noting that the section that Commissioner Turetsky had objected to during first reading, had been deleted from the proposal on second reading.
