SUMMARY MINUTES City of Sunny Isles Beach Special City Commission Meeting - Thursday, September 9, 1999 at 7:00 p.m. 151 Budget Hearing 1. CALL TO ORDER/ROLL CALL OF MEMBERS The meeting was called to order by Mayor Samson at 7:09 p.m. The following officials were present: Mayor David Samson Vice-Mayor Irving Turetsky Commissioner Danny Iglesias Commissioner Lila Kauffman Commissioner Connie Morrow City Manager James DiPietro City Attorney Lynn M. Dannheisser City Clerk Richard Brown-Morilla 2. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE ACTION: Vice Mayor Turetsky led the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag. 3. CITY COMMISSION BUDGET DISCUSSION ACTION: City Manager gave a brief introduction asking that no formal changes be made to the proposed budget at the first hearing, since there wouldn't be time to change the budget and tax rate advertisement, noting that any decisions could be made at the second hearing 4. BUDGET RESOLUTION AND ORDINANCE 4A. MILLAGE RESOLUTION A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, ESTABLISHING AND IMPOSING THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH TENTATIVE AD VALOREM TAX MILLAGE LEVY RATE AT 2.303 MILLS PER OE THOUSAND ($1000) DOLLARS OF TAXABLE ASSESSED VALUE; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. ACTION: [City Clerk's note:A revised resolution was handed-out at the meeting and made a part of the record.] The City Clerk read the title. Public speakers: none Commissioner Kauffman moved, and Commissioner Morrow seconded a motion to approve the proposed resolution. Resolution No. 99-154 was adopted by a roll call vote of 5-0 in favor.
