Add-On item: "Welcome Book"/Code Enforcement <br /> ACTION: During discussion of 8-B, City Manager DiPietro explained that the City had <br /> issued a "Welcome Book," copies of which were distributed during the meeting. It was <br /> suggested that the City publicize our Code Enforcement activities and better explain the <br /> regulations. Acting Building & Zoning Director Bob Ruiz promised to prepare a booklet to <br /> send to all condo Boards regarding compliance with City Codes. <br /> 12. REQUESTS, PETITIONS & OTHER COMMUNICATIONS: <br /> 12A. During discussion of item 8A, Jeffrey Erick volunteered to help the City create a children's <br /> Police Athletic League (PAL). Mayor Samson asked him to come speak with him. Later <br /> in the meeting Mr. Erick asked if the City could have the street repaving work done faster <br /> (he lives on 189 Street) in Golden Shores, since the dust is dangerous to his son who had <br /> just had a liver transplant. <br /> 12B. Virginia Wolnowicz of Florida Ocean Club Condominium, 172 and Collins Avenue, <br /> complained that she had been verbally threatened and abused by another condominium unit <br /> owner in her building(condo association president) . She said she had sought Police advice. <br /> She then asked for the City's help. Mayor Samson suggested she go to "Florida Land <br /> Sales." Commissioner Kauffman suggested that the Police citizen liaison might be someone <br /> who could speak with the individual to try to mediate. <br /> Ms. Wolnowicz also asked if it was illegal to feed stray cats on the streets. Commissioner <br /> Kauffman said there were citizen volunteers who were capturing wild cats to have them <br /> neutered and released. Police Lt. Rick Feisthammel said it was not illegal to feed stray cats. <br /> 13. ADJOURNMENT: <br /> Commissioner Morrow moved and Commissioner Iglesias seconded a motion to adjourn the <br /> meeting.
