Pop-up spray heads shall be installed on PVC swing joints. <br /> <br />2.05 <br />A. All sprinkler heads shall be as manufactured by Rainbird, Inc. or approved equal. The manufacturer <br />shall guarantee all sprinklers and components for not less than one (1) year from installation, <br />warranted against all defects in normal material and workmanship. <br />SPRINKLER HEADS: <br /> <br /> <br /> B. Shrub Spray Heads (PA- Series) shall be of the fixed spray type designed for in ground installation. <br />The sprinkler shall be capable of covering up to a fifteen-foot radius at 25 P.S.I. <br />1. The sprinkler shall be available with a 4-, 6-, or 12-inch (10-, 15-, or 30-cm) pop-up stroke, <br />depending on the body specified, to bring the nozzle into a clean environment. The sprinkler shall <br />have the option of either a factory-installed or field-installed drain check valve capable of checking <br />up to 7 feet (2.1 m) in elevation change. When specified as factory-installed, the sprinkler shall <br />have the words “CHECK VALVE” stamped in white lettering on the body cap. <br />2. The body of the sprinkler shall be constructed of corrosion and UV-resistant, heavy-duty A.B.S. <br />The riser of the sprinkler shall be constructed of abrasion and UV-resistant A.B.S. and shall be <br />adjustable for pattern alignment. The riser shall be compatible with female threaded nozzles and <br />shall have a stainless steel spring for positive retraction when irrigation is complete. <br />3. The sprinkler shall have a factory-installed, removable flush cap with a pull-up tab that shall <br />prevent debris from entering the sprinkler during installation and allow the system to be flushed <br />before installing the nozzle. The flush cap shall have a directional flushing action that allows the <br />water to escape only in one direction. The flush cap shall open as the stem extends and completely <br />close when the stem is in the retracted position. <br /> <br />C. Pop-up Spray Heads (1812 Series) Pop-up Spray Heads (6", 12” ): The sprinkler shall be Rainbird Series <br />1806 SAM, 1812 or approved equal meeting the following criteria: <br /> 1. The sprinkler shall be of the fixed spray type designed for in ground installation. The sprinkler <br />shall be capable of covering 10-15 feet at 30 PSI. <br /> 2. The sprinkler shall contain a “ Seal a Matic” check valve to prevent low head drainage up to 10 <br />feet of head. <br />3. The sprinkler shall have a plug which will prevent debris from clogging the sprinkler during <br />installation and allow for the system to be flushed before nozzling. The plug shall be <br />constructed of poly propelene material. <br /> 4. The sprinkle body, stem, nozzle and screen shall be constructed of heavy-duty, ultra-violet <br />resistant plastic. It shall have a heavy duty stainless steel retract spring for positive pop-down <br />and a ratcheting system for easy alignment of the pattern. <br />5. Coverage shall be either full or part circle. The part circle coverage shall be available in arcs of <br />90, 120, 180, 240, and 270 degrees or adjustable part circle. Also included shall be special <br />patterns including an end strip and center strip nozzle configuration. All nozzles shall be of <br />matched precipitation rate ( MPR). <br />6. The nozzle shall contain and accept the non-clogging 1800 series filter screen to allow for radius <br />adjustment. The radius adjustment screw shall be of stainless steel. <br /> <br />D. Pop-Up Rotary Heads: (Rainbird 5000 Plus Series or approved equal) <br />1. The full and part circle sprinkler shall be a single stream- water lubricated gear drive type capable <br /> of covering 37-47 feet at 45 psi at a discharge rate of 2 to 6 gpm. <br />2. The sprinkler shall have a flow shut-off device that is integrated to the flow path of the rotor and a <br /> adjustable arc coverage of 40 to 360 degrees. Arc adjustment shall be performed with or without <br /> the sprinkler in operation and shall require only a flat-blade screwdriver. <br />3. The sprinkler shall have a pressure activated multi-function wiper seal that positively seals against <br /> the pop-up stem to keep debris out of the rotor and to clean debris from the pop-up stem as it <br /> retracts. <br />4. The sprinkler shall have a screen installed in the pop-up stem to filter inlet water, protect the drive <br /> from clogging and to simplify removal for cleaning and flushing of the system.
