SAMSON OCEANFRONT PARK <br />CITY OF SUNNY ISLES <br />TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS <br />FIELD ENGINEERING 0105 0-1 <br />SECTION 01050 FIELD ENGINEERING <br /> <br /> <br />PART 1 - GENERAL <br /> <br />1.01 The Contractor will engage a licensed engineer of the discipline required, registered in the State of Florida, to <br />perform engineering services for temporary facilities including the design of shoring systems, shores, earth and <br />water retaining systems, forms, temporary erection supports, and similar items provided by the Contractor as part <br />of its means and methods of construction. <br /> <br />PART 2 - CONTRACTOR CONSTRUCTION STAKING <br /> <br />2.01 DESCRIPTION <br /> <br />: In connection with this Work, Contractor shall: <br /> A. Perform all construction layout and reference staking necessary for the proper control and satisfactory <br />completion of the Work. <br /> <br /> B. Run a level circuit between vertical control points indicated to check plan benchmarks and establish new <br />benchmarks where necessary. <br /> <br />2.02 CONSTRUCTION REQUIREMENTS <br /> <br />: <br /> A. The Contractors personnel performing the construction staking shall work under the direct supervision of a <br />Florida registered engineer or Florida licensed land surveyor. Submit name and address of individual <br />responsible for surveying to the City prior to start of survey activities. <br /> B. The Contractor shall be solely and completely responsible for the accuracy of the line and grade of all <br />features of the Work. Any errors or apparent discrepancies found in previous surveys, plans, or <br />specifications or shall be called to the attention of the City by the Contractor for correction or interpretation <br />prior to proceeding with the work. <br /> C. Field notes shall be kept in standard, bound field notebooks in a clear, orderly, and neat manner consistent <br />with standard engineering practices. <br /> D. The Contractor shall be responsible for the placement and preservation of adequate ties and reference to all <br />control points, whether established by him or found on the project, necessary for the accurate <br />reestablishment of all base lines or centerlines shown on the Plans. All land ties (i.e. section corners, <br />fractional section corners, and similar items) that may be lost or destroyed during construction shall be <br />carefully referenced and replaced. <br /> E. The supervision of the Contractor's construction engineering personnel shall be the responsibility of the <br />Contractor; and, any deficient engineering layout or construction work which may be the result of <br />inaccuracies in his staking operations or of his failure to report inaccuracies found in work previously done <br />by the Design Engineer shall be corrected at the expense of the Contractor. <br /> <br /> F. In order to expedite the commencement of construction operations, the staking operation may commence <br />prior to the issuance of the Notice to Proceed. The Contractor shall obtain written approval of the Resident <br />Engineer prior to commencing staking. <br /> <br /> <br />2.03 RECORDS AND SUBMITTALS <br /> <br />: <br /> A. Submittal: <br /> 1. Provide City a copy of the designs described in Paragraph 1.01 signed and sealed by the licensed <br />engineer.
