Prohibit overloading of trucks to prevent spillages on access and haul routes. Provide periodic <br />inspection of traffic areas to enforce requirements. <br /> 3. Final cleanup is specified in SECTION 01700 - CONTRACT CLOSEOUT. <br /> <br /> D. Pollution Control: <br /> <br /> 1. Provide methods, means, and facilities required to prevent contamination of soil, water, or <br />atmosphere by the discharge of hazardous or toxic substances from construction operations. <br /> 2. Provide equipment and personnel, perform emergency measures required to contain any spillages, <br />and to remove contaminated soils or liquids. Excavate and dispose of any contaminated earth off- <br />site in approved locations, and replace with suitable compacted fill and topsoil. <br /> 3. Take special measures to prevent harmful substances from entering public waters, sanitary, or storm <br />sewers. <br /> 4. If hazardous materials are discharged, report to authorities as required by Law or Regulations and <br />notify the City. <br /> <br /> <br />3.04 TRAFFIC CONTROL AND USE OF ROADWAYS <br /> <br />: <br />A. Traffic Control: <br /> 1. Provide, operate, and maintain equipment, services, and personnel, with traffic control and <br />protective devices, as required to expedite vehicular traffic flow on haul routes, at site entrances, on- <br />site access roads, and parking areas. This includes barricades and other devices or personnel as <br />necessary to adequately protect the public. Prepare and submit Traffic Control Plan to the City and <br />FDOT for acceptance. <br /> 2. Remove temporary equipment and facilities when no longer required. Restore grounds to original, <br />better, or specified conditions. <br />3. Provide and maintain suitable detours or other temporary expedients if necessary. <br /> 4. Bridge over open trenches where necessary to maintain traffic. <br /> 5. Consult with governing authorities to establish public thoroughfares which will be used for site <br />access. All operations shall meet the approval of owners or agencies having jurisdiction. <br /> <br /> B. Maintenance of Roadways: <br /> 1. Repair off-site roads, water control and City property damaged by operations. Keep traffic areas as <br />free as possible of excavated materials and maintain in a manner to eliminate dust, mud, and <br />hazardous conditions. <br /> 2. All operations and repairs shall meet the approval of the City or agencies having jurisdiction. <br /> <br />3.05 <br /> <br />SECURITY <br /> A. The Contractor is solely responsible for initiating and maintaining security at the construction site. <br />Contractor shall take all necessary precautions for the security of, and shall provide the necessary <br />protection to: <br /> 1. Materials and equipment incorporated into the work, or stored on-site prior to incorporation into the <br />work. <br /> 2. Plant and equipment including any equipment furnished for use by the City. <br /> <br /> B. The Contractor shall replace, in kind, any materials or equipment lost, damaged or destroyed at its own <br />expense. <br /> <br /> <br />END OF SECTION
