Unclassified Backfill shall be placed in 12-inch lifts to the lines and grades shown on the drawings <br />or as approved by the ENGINEER. The CONTRACTOR shall compact unclassified backfill to a <br />density approximating the density of surrounding native material and in a manner that will not <br />allow settlement of the completed area. <br />3.05 MAINTENANCE: <br /> <br />A. The CONTRACTOR shall protect newly graded areas from actions of the elements. <br /> <br />B.
