Russo,City Manager <br /> FROM: Elka Linton-Dorsett, Capital Projects Manager <br /> DATE: 10/15/2015 <br /> Resolution Approving a Contract Amendment with RJ <br /> RE: Behar&Company, Inc for Engineering Services during <br /> Construction of the Samson Oceanfront Park <br /> Improvements. <br /> RECOMMENDATION: <br /> Staff recommends approval of this resolution. <br /> REASONS: <br /> Included in the adopted City Capital Improvement Plan is a project for <br /> construction of improvements to Samson Oceanfront Park. <br /> Programmed improvements include expanding the public restrooms, <br /> installing a properly sized and routed sanitary sewer lateral, <br /> constructing a new performance area and playground, upgrading the <br /> hardscape and landscaping features,wall and signage enhancements <br /> and replacing the existing deteriorated site lighting and associated <br /> electrical system. <br /> In April 2014, City Commission approved Resolution 2014-2229 <br /> awarding a $103,113.50 contract to RJ Behar & Company for <br /> professional services for the design of improvements to Samson <br /> Oceanfront Park. Two (2) contract amendments followed in <br /> September 2014 and June 2015 for a total of $52,764 to address <br /> additional design elements beyond the original scope of services. <br /> In order to insure sufficient oversight and testing for the successful <br /> implementation of this project, construction phase services are <br /> needed.
