Russo,City Manager <br /> FROM: Elka Linton-Dorsett, Capital Projects Manager <br /> DATE: 10/15/2015 <br /> Resolution Awarding RFP NO. 15-05-01 for <br /> RE: Professional Construction Services for the Samson <br /> Oceanfront Park Improvements to West Construction <br /> Inc. <br /> RECOMMENDATION: <br /> Staff is recommending the City Commission approve this bid award <br /> REASONS: <br /> Included in the adopted City Capital Improvement Plan is a project for <br /> construction of improvements to Samson Oceanfront Park. <br /> Programmed improvements include expanding the public restrooms, <br /> installing a properly sized and routed sanitary sewer lateral, <br /> constructing a new performance area and playground, upgrading the <br /> hardscape and landscaping features, wall and signage enhancements <br /> and replacing the existing deteriorated site lighting and associated <br /> electrical system. <br /> The City publicly advertised the project and received one (1) <br /> construction bid. Staff thoroughly reviewed the bid, their letters of <br /> recommendation and previous track record, and determined West <br /> Construction Inc. a responsible and responsive bidder. <br /> The City's design consultant for this project, RJ Behar has also <br /> recommended award to West Construction Inc. A copy of their bid <br /> recommendation is attached. <br /> ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: <br /> This bid award is also companion item with approving a contract with <br /> RJ Behar for construction phase professional services. <br /> FUNDING SOURCE: <br /> Funding has been appropriated in account No 300-5-5410-465000- <br /> 84001 <br /> ATTACHMENTS: <br /> Description <br /> Bid Report <br /> R.J.
