Before they are installed, all substitutions shall receive the approval of <br />the ENGINEER. <br />1.05 QUALIFICATIONS: The CONTRACTOR shall ensure that personnel handling planting <br />chemicals are appropriately licensed to do so and that the application of such chemicals is <br />in compliance with the manufacturer’s printed literature and/or directions on the label. <br />1.06 RESPONSIBILITIES: <br />A. The CONTRACTOR shall be responsible for receiving, storing, maintaining (before <br />and after planting), planting soil, fertilizer, mulch, water, temporary irrigation system, <br />miscellaneous landscape accessories, bracing, etc. <br />B. The CONTRACTOR shall provide all plants required to perform the work covered by <br />this section, including all shrubs and trees. <br />C. Work Covered By Contract Documents: The CONTRACTOR shall provide all <br />supervision, labor, materials, equipment and tools, and perform all operations <br />necessary to excavate, grade, plant, and backfill all landscape material indicated in <br />the Drawings. <br />D. The CONTRACTOR shall procure all necessary permits to accomplish all of the <br />work. <br />E. The CONTRACTOR is responsible for performing all work in accordance with all <br />applicable regulations, ordinances, and code requirements from the appropriate city, <br />county, state and/or federal jurisdiction the project is located in. <br />1.07 CERTIFICATIONS: Upon request from the City, the CONTRACTOR shall provide <br />certifications indicating that the plants used in the WORK meet or exceed the existing <br />landscaping features being replaced. As a minimum, the certifications shall indicate that <br />the plant complies with the grade, size, and quality of the plant being replaced. <br />1.08 INSPECTION COORDINATION: The CONTRACTOR shall provide access to the WORK <br />for the ENGINEER as requested for inspection. The Contractor shall provide 48 hours <br />notice of its intention to begin new WORK activities. <br />1.09 WARRANTY: The CONTRACTOR shall warranty plantings and landscaping in <br />accordance with the following. <br />A. All plants shall be of the same grade and standard as set forth in the latest revision <br />of the “Florida Grades & Standards” at the end of the guarantee period as they were <br />originally specified prior to installation. <br />B. The guarantee shall not begin until the day final acceptance is given. <br />C. All landscape elements and plant material, except sod, shall be guaranteed for a <br />minimum of one calendar year from the time of final acceptance. All sod shall be <br />guaranteed for a minimum of SIXTY (60) calendar days from the time of final <br />acceptance. <br />D. An inspection may be made at the end of the period, but prior to the last day of the <br />guarantee period. <br />E. Plant material, which is on site and scheduled to be transplanted or placed into <br />nursery pots, is not covered by a guarantee except in the case of the <br />CONTRACTOR’s negligence or work that has been done in an unworkman-like
