This project includes direct <br /> ® connections to median widening on the Turnpike, the addition of EB and WB auxiliary <br /> ® lanes to the outside of 1-595 and the SR84 frontage roads, braided ramps to provide <br /> ® grade separation betweenKon and off ramps in areas where conflicts and weaving <br /> movements presently exist, reconstruction of the Turnpike interchange and portions of <br /> ® the University Drive interchange, constructing a continuous connection of SR84 from <br /> ® Davie Road to SR7 in order to separate that traffic from 1-595, and new Sound Barrier <br /> ® Walls. <br /> ® Highlights of the major improvement components include: <br /> ® • Tolled reversible ground level express lanes to be,knovwn as, 595Express, serving <br /> ® traffic to/from I-75/Sawgrass Expressway from/to' east of SR 7, with a direct <br /> ® connection to Florida's Turnpike. <br /> ® • Geometric improvements to the 1-595 / Florida'1 -Turnpike Interchange. <br /> S .• Additional auxiliary lanes on the eastbound:and westbound 1-595 and SR 84 <br /> roadways. <br /> ® • Continuous connection of the SR 84 frontage road between Davie Road and SR 7. <br /> ® • Grade separated (braided) entrance and exit ramps. <br /> ® • Combined ramps and cross-road-bypasses. <br /> ® • Construction of the New River Greenway, a component of the Broward County <br /> Greenways System. <br /> ® • 13 sound barriers providing noise abatement for 21 communities. <br /> $ • Implementation of Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) / Express Bus Service within the 1-595 <br /> ® corridor. <br /> ® • Accommodation of a transit envelope within the corridor, currently under <br /> development as part of the Central Broward East-West Transit Analysis. <br /> ® r•r%oo A Irina rt 2-25 <br /> %•%.011 r% Is11v <br />
