South Pointe Park is located at the <br /> ® <br /> J.: <br /> ' It-. southern end of South Beach in Miami Beach. The park is <br /> L�-- \ ; 1� �� bounded by the oceanfront, Government Cut, and Biscayne Bay. <br /> These coastal and waterfront environments present many <br /> challenges, but the project also provided an opportunity to create <br /> a -,r % T✓ a unique park experience. <br /> ' Coastal System designed the stormwater management for the 19- <br /> z. .1 . ;J =-�.—, c-, <br /> a . s j: acre site which included a system of drainage retention areas in <br /> ';,-la 4.,, -'; c, conjunction with deep water injection wells to prevent any runoff <br /> -' =i�� ; 4t b` �l into the bay and inlet. The drainage design was completed in <br /> 11 . . p, <br /> n ® ;1'1 close coordination with the landscape architects to ensure the <br /> ..-- design vision was maintained throughout the project. Potable <br /> ,f "a^ • water and sanitary sewer services to the park were also designed. <br /> Coastal Systems secured coastal construction and environmental <br /> resource permits for the site from the Florida Department of <br /> Environmental Protection (DEP). The permitting process required <br /> extensive coordination with the design team to ensure compliance <br /> for the planned park improvements with the stringent coastal and <br /> environmental permitting requirements. Lighting plans were <br /> processed for compliance with marine turtle protection <br /> requirements.
