I
I G. BATISTA
&ASSOCIATES
©
IDESIGN
I The next step in our methodology is the actual design which includes the elements reviewed and
developed during the initial strategizing. This step is the most technical since it involves the
maximum use of our engineering skills and the use
Iof our cutting edge tools for an optimal design
+ j /% The entire process of planning and design requires
IC6 dt `fir" ! o not onlyimagination and conceptual thinking but
' - ° . also sound knowledge of practical aspects. such as
- _ ' oaMe-- '
I
;, recent codes and statutes. backed up by ample
:q eU_ experience, intuition and engineering judgment.
1 k!!IUIUU1
°Lusa"I , It is emphasized that any project to be completed
I 0101111/. Thus, the design of any project could be
Icategorized into the following two main phases:
1. Study Phase
I2. Design
STUDY PHASE: During this phase our Team will schedule the collection of data in particular traffic
I counts, previous studies, accident reports, and perform field reviews. Based on the data collected we
then can perform traffic modeling of the existing conditions, prepare traffic forecast and modeling of
the future traffic and the alternatives for improvements.
I
The results of the study phase are then summarized in a report format with costs. conclusions and
recommendations.
I
DESIGN: The road to be constructed should primarily serve the basic purpose for which it is to be
used and must have a pleasing look.
IThe road should provide the function. be safe. address the traffic needs. and meet all applicable
regulations. Transportation engineering projects must pursue the same goals:
I > Motorist & Pedestrian Safety
Service to the User
I > Preservation of the Owner's investment
Our Team provides a holistic approach towards planning and design, where we involve members of
I the different disciplines necessary for the project and conduct a `Brainstorming Session" for the
purpose of obtaining an optimum solution to the project. The session is intended to identify fatal
ICITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH
RFQ NO. 12-04-02
