•
® Sunny Isles Beach RFQ No. 12-04-01 Section 4:Approach &Methodology
Landscape Architecture
O
• followed by specifying drought tolerant native and indigenous plant material, water retaining
Q soil amendments and a low water consumption irrigation system. It is our philosophy to cre-
ate enduring landscapes that will last for generations. The City will benefit from ORDA's
• knowledge of sustainable principles as it has several projects that have achieved LEED certifi-
• cation.
® ORDA's knowledge of urban design and public spaces is vast and varied - as one of South Flor-
• ida's longest running landscape architecture and planning firms with thousands of acres of
• green space and hundreds of miles of FDOT streetscapes in our portfolio, we are experts in
the design and craft of vibrant public spaces. Throughout our 40 year partnerships with local
• architects, engineers, horticulturists, and municipalities we have been able to create success-
• ful, urban spaces for South Florida communities. Our most recent projects include the design
• of three community parks for the Town of Golden Beach, an urban plaza and civic green for
the Village of Palmetto Bay and a city center park for the City of Doral. Our goal is to design
® spaces that function, spaces that are memorable and spaces that cities are proud to call their
® own.
• As urban designers and landscape architects, each of ORDA's designs for public realm pro-
• jects rest upon the building blocks of successful urban spaces. Context, scale, form and func-
• tion create the architectural framework of each of our designs and are balanced with a need
® for long-term sustainability, a project's budget, beauty and aesthetics. ORDA's approach for
place making begins with broad brush, comprehensive investigations, where regional and local
• context are evaluated alongside site specific conditions, budgetary constraints, a client's de-
• sires and a communities' needs. Through site analysis, stakeholder interviews and listening
• .sessions with clients and stakeholder groups from the community, ORDA strives to
weave compelling solutions to create city center parks, public streetscapes and civic arenas
• that are environmentally and fiscally sustainable and stand as exceptional examples of public
• outdoor spaces. As designers passionate about detail and aesthetics, we strive for beauty in
• each of our projects and design with an intimate understanding that the long-term sustainabil-
ity of every component must be addressed and accounted for. Our measure of excellence is
® the long term satisfaction of our clients and the achievement of the principles we share as a
• firm.
•
••
0•
•
sk-y cri
Q.2
® E - , '.`}':r4 '` ;.° " g ;fr __ HOME TEAM
WSt!122-4 it -1 + 'a Ii 0 sn.sr: 0.1.15 w
® y' J, Y . yw® a ; ` ` ! 1ttFP5
,• tai r w
s aranxn y
J. i'•;£ J• rl :`/JJnJ.ltz.r f!•k 'k=-,
• Waterways Blvd. Houston's Restaurant NE 190th Street Founders Park
O'LEARY RICHARDS DESIGN ASSOCIATES,Inc. 30
