From these studies, it was determined that a new recreational <br /> ® -"_; center was a high priority. As the former Spring Training site of the Negro Baseball League <br /> ® i and the centerpiece for the city's revitalization efforts of the 'Northwest Neighborhoods," the <br /> ' i <br /> park renovations and center were designed to be a focal point of the community.The 4,000-SF <br /> • m"""'"" ";"""'r_M' recreation building is at the visual center of the 4-acre park and approaching streets. It contains <br /> - arts and crafts rooms,dance studios,and multipurpose classrooms. Due to limited funding for <br /> ® = the project, portions of it were built with help from community volunteers.
