Varadero <br />Traffic Study <br /> <br />Page 25 <br />The processing rate was calculated by adding the time it will take a valet attendant to process the <br />vehicles (processing time), the time it will take him to drive to the parking space (driving time) <br />the time it will take him to maneuver stacked vehicles and mechanical lift in order to park or <br />retrieve a vehicle (mechanical lift time and park processing time), and the time it will take him to <br />walk to/from the parking area (walking time). A processing time of 51 seconds per vehicle was <br />used in the analysis. This information is based on data collected on a hotel in Miami Beach (see <br />Appendix G). The driving time for the valet attendant was calculated on a conservative speed of <br />10 mph, and the walking time for the valet attendant was calculated on a jogging speed of 6ft/sec. <br />The mechanical lift time has a process time of 30 seconds per platform lift. This timing was <br />tripled to assume that every vehicle would need to wait for the lift to come from the most <br />suspended position in order to load.
