Summary Minutes:Regular City Commission Meeting March 17,2016 City of Sunny Isles Beach,Florida <br /> said she was against the project, it is in her district, and she was concerned about the density <br /> of the traffic that it would bring to the area. Even'day she drives from north to south towards <br /> • Winston Towers and she sees a line of cars in front of Walgreens trying to get onto Collins <br /> Avenue. To her it is more about the building than it is about the modification. <br /> Commissioner Aelion moved and Commissioner Goldman seconded a motion for approval, <br /> subject to staff conditions. Resolution No. 16-Z-157 was adopted by a roll call vote of 4- <br /> 1 Nice Mayor Gatto against] in favor. <br /> Vote: Commissioner Aelion yes <br /> Commissioner Goldman yes <br /> Commissioner Levin yes <br /> Vice Mayor Gatto no <br /> Mayor Scholl yes <br /> 7. ORDINANCES FOR FIRST READING <br /> 7A. An Ordinance of the City Commission of the City of Sunny Isles Beach, Florida, Amending <br /> Section 265-20 of the City Code to Require the Submittal of Spot Surveys to the Chief <br /> Building Official and Zoning Administrator During the Construction of Residential <br /> and Commercial Buildings; Providing for Applicability and Severability; Providing for <br /> Repealer; Providing for Inclusion in the Code; Providing for an Effective Date. <br /> Action: City Clerk Hines read the title,and City Attorney Ottinot reported that as a matter of <br /> practice developers are required to submit spot surveys to the City to demonstrate <br /> compliance to the Building Code. We are now requesting to codify that practice in this <br /> Ordinance which will apply to any residential and commercial project that has not received a <br /> Certificate of Occupancy. This Ordinance was requested by the City Manager's Office, the <br /> Chief Building Official, and the Zoning Administrator. <br /> Public Speakers: None <br /> Commissioner Levin asked if this only applies to residential high-rise buildings? City <br /> Attorney Ottinot said no, it is for all commercial, residential, and single-family as well. <br /> Mayor Scholl said yes, it used to be called a foundation survey. <br /> Commissioner Levin moved and Vice Mayor Gatto seconded a motion to approve the <br /> proposed Ordinance on first reading. The motion was approved by a roll call vote of 5-0 <br /> in favor. Second reading, public hearing will be held on Thursday, April 21, 2016, at <br /> 6:30 p.m. <br /> Vote: Commissioner Aelion yes <br /> Commissioner Goldman yes <br /> Commissioner Levin yes <br /> Vice Mayor Gatto yes <br /> Mayor Scholl yes <br /> 8.
