ORDINANCE NO. 2016 - 478 <br /> AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF <br /> SUNNY ISLES BEACH, AMENDING THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES <br /> BEACH COMPREHENSIVE PLAN TO PROVIDE FOR THE STATE <br /> OF FLORIDA MANDATED REQUIREMENTS FOR A TEN-YEAR <br /> WATER SUPPLY FACILITIES WORK PLAN BY AMENDING THE <br /> INFRASTRUCTURE ELEMENT,THE CONSERVATION ELEMENT, <br /> THE INTERGOVERNMENTAL COORDINATION ELEMENT,AND <br /> BY UPDATING THE WATER SUPPLY FACILITIES WORK PLAN <br /> SUB-ELEMENT; PROVIDING THAT A TRANSMITAL AND <br /> ADOPTION PUBLIC HEARING WILL BE HELD;PROVIDING FOR <br /> ADOPTION; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABLITY; PROVIDING FOR <br /> AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Sunny Isles Beach initially adopted its first Water Supply Facility <br /> Plan pursuant to Ordinance No. 2009-330 passed and adopted on July 16, 2009; and <br /> WHEREAS, Section 163.3177 (6) (a), Florida Statutes, requires coordination of the local <br /> Comprehensive Plan with the South Florida Water Management District's regional water supply <br /> plan; and <br /> WHEREAS,Section 163.3177(6)(c)Florida Statues,requires local governments to update <br /> its 10-Year Water Supply Work Plan ("Work Plan")and to amend their comprehensive plans within <br /> eighteen(18)months after the water management district approves a regional water supply plan or its <br /> update; and <br /> WHEREAS,the City of Sunny Isles Beach,Florida,has carefully prepared amendments to <br /> its Comprehensive Plan pursuant to Section 163.3177 (6) (c), Florida Statutes, in order to adopt <br /> amendments or revisions in conformance with the adopted Work Plan; and <br /> WHEREAS,the City Commission desires to transmit the updates of 10-Year Water Supply <br /> Plan updates along with amendments to the current comprehensive plan to guide and control the <br /> future development of the City to the State Department of Economic Opportunities and its required <br /> agencies, to preserve, promote and protect the public health, safety and welfare. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE <br /> CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: <br /> Section 1. Recitals.
