The City is also supportive of mandating yard <br /> water restrictions that have been directed by the South Florida Regional Water <br /> Management District. There are no water conservation projects identified in the City's CIE <br /> or CIS. <br /> The City will continue to coordinate future water conservation efforts with NMB Utility and <br /> SFWMD to ensure that proper techniques are applied. In addition, the City will continue <br /> to support and expand existing goals, objectives and policies in the Comprehensive Plan <br /> that promotes water conservation in a cost-effective and environmentally sensitive <br /> manner. <br /> 3.7.2 City Specific Actions, Programs, Regulations, or Opportunities <br /> The City will support the NMB Utility, SFWMD, and Miami-Dade County water reuse <br /> projects, and implementation of new regulations or programs designed to increase the <br /> volume of reclaimed water used and public acceptance of reclaimed water. See <br /> Conservation Policy 2M; Intergovernmental Coordination Policy 3Y. Objective 5 and <br /> Policies 5A., 5B. and 5C. <br /> 3.7.3 Identify any Local Financial Responsibilities as Detailed in the CIS <br /> The City does not currently have financial responsibilities for reuse projects. <br /> 3.8 Alternative Water Supplies <br /> The NMB Utility actively pursues the use of alternative water resources. It was the first <br /> utility in Miami-Dade County to establish an Alternate Water Supply Program. Through <br /> this program the Utility, in coordination with its intergovernmental partners, is taking the <br /> lead to help ensure it protects and preserves valuable water resources while providing for <br /> the needs of current and future populations. The City's CUP requires that the Floridan <br /> Aquifer wells operate to withdraw a minimum of 10 percent of the quantity of water <br /> withdrawn from the Biscayne Aquifer on an annual average basis. <br /> Is <br />
