Sunny Isles Beach,Florida 33160 <br /> \,iio• (305)947.0606 City Hall <br /> o.., (305)949.3113 Fax <br /> MEMORANDUM <br /> TO: The Honorable Mayor and City Commission <br /> VIA: Christopher J.Russo,City Manager <br /> FROM: Claudia Hasbun,AICP, Planning and Zoning <br /> Administrator <br /> DATE: 4/21/2016 <br /> RE: Adoption of the City's 2016 10-Year Water Supply <br /> Facilities Work Plan <br /> RECOMMENDATION: <br /> It is recommended that the City Commission Adopt and Transmit the <br /> 2016 10-Year Water Supply Facilities Work Plan and related <br /> Comprehensive Plan amendments to the Department of Economic <br /> Opportunity and other review agencies. <br /> REASONS: <br /> At the public hearing and regular meeting of the City Commission on <br /> January 21, 2016, the Commission passed a motion to transmit the <br /> Water Supply Facilities Work Plan to the Florida Department of <br /> Economic Opportunity and other review agencies with a favorable <br /> recommendation. Since that time agency comments were received <br /> and incorporated into the documents from the various review agencies <br /> (highlighted in yellow). <br /> Pursuant to State Statute each municipality must update its water <br /> supply plan every five years and within 18 months of the adopted <br /> update to the water supply plan of its respective Water Management <br /> District. In the City's case the applicable District is the South Florida <br /> Water Management District which adopted the Lower East Coast <br /> Water Supply Plan Update(LEC)on October 10,2013. <br /> The Miami-Dade County Comprehensive Development Master Plan <br /> Water Supply Plan Update related Amendments were adopted <br /> February 4, 2015 along with the Miami-Dade WASD 20-year Water <br /> Supply Facilities Work Plan (2014-2033) Support Data (November <br /> 2014). The City's water is supplied by North Miami Beach Utility which <br /> adopted its updated Plan on June 15,2015. <br /> With the adoption of the Water Supply Plan Update and the water <br /> supply related amendments to the Comprehensive Plan the City will <br /> be in compliance with state requirements and will be consistent with <br /> the above referenced plans. <br /> CHANGES TO WATER SUPPLY FACILITIES WORK PLAN <br /> The proposed major changes/amendments to the existing Water <br /> Supply Facilities Work Plan and Comprehensive Plan consist of the <br /> following: <br /> http://sunny isles.novusagenda.cool/Agenda Web/CoverSheet.asps?Item)D=1881 4/15/2016 <br />
