Maas, Police Chief <br /> DATE: 5/19/2016 <br /> Approval to Purchase Sixteen (16) Police Vehicles, Two <br /> RE: (2) Police Motorcycles and associated equipment not to <br /> exceed $ 585,979.66 <br /> RECOMMENDATION: <br /> It is recommended that the City Commission adopt the attached <br /> resolution authorizing the City Manager to purchase ten (10) Ford <br /> Interceptor SW's, one (1) Ford Interceptor Sedan, two (2) Ford F- <br /> 150's, two (2) Chevy Tahoe's, one (1) Dodge Durango and two Harley <br /> Davidson Road King Motorcycles and all associated equipment, <br /> markings and lighting not to exceed $ 585,979.66. <br /> REASONS: <br /> The Sunny Isles Beach Police Department rotates a portion of the <br /> police fleet annually to assure the safety and reliability of its equipment <br /> to our officers. All sixteen (16) vehicles will be purchased through the <br /> Florida Sheriffs Association's Contract Bid # 15-23-0904. The two <br /> police motorcycles will be purchased from Chester's Harley Davidson <br /> through a competitive bid process. <br /> The associated equipment will be purchased from various vendors as a <br /> result of a competitive bid process, Florida Sheriffs Association's <br /> Contract and /or a piggyback contract. <br /> FUNDING SOURCE: <br /> 316 <br />
