8 | P a g e <br />RFQ #16-06-01 Shoreline Surveying & Mapping Consulting Services <br />SPECIFIC EXPERIENCE <br /> <br />Land & Sea Surveying is a small business located on the central east coast of Florida in Merritt Island. We <br />have been in business since 1992, providing surveying services all over the state of Florida. We have the <br />expertise, knowledge and capability to provide all manner of surveying services, both on land and over <br />water. We provided services in accordance with the Monitoring Standard for Beach Erosion Control as <br />published by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection Bureau of Beach and Coastal Systems. <br />Our expert staff with over 100 years of combined experience is proficient in providing conventional, <br />hydrographic, and GPS (static and RTK) surveying. Our team prides itself on our attention to detail and <br />customer service while providing accurate and efficient products. <br /> <br />Since our inception, we have completed thousands of surveys and worked for many governmental entities <br />including Sebastian Inlet District, Jupiter Inlet District, US Army Corps of Engineers, St. Augustine Port, <br />Waterway & Beach District, Canaveral Port Authority, City of Ft. Pierce, City of Miami, City of Gulfport, City <br />of Cocoa, City of Melbourne, Indian River County, Brevard County and Martin County. The principal and <br />founder, Tim Carlile, holds Professional Surveyor licenses in five states (Florida, Georgia, Mississippi, <br />Louisiana, and Texas) and the US Virgin Islands. He is also a certified hydrographer and holds a USCG 100- <br />ton Master Captain’s license. <br /> <br />Since 2004, Land & Sea Surveying has provided profiles of the beach at Sebastian Inlet, 6 miles north and 6 <br />miles south of the inlet. The data sets collected by Land & Sea Surveying for the Sebastian Inlet District is <br />compiled in an interactive GIS and remote sensing database that is used to examine long-term trends and <br />shorter-term variability of the beach, shoreface and overall sand budget of Sebastian Inlet. The Inlet’s plan <br />and Land & Sea Surveying data collection methods were developed alongside the 1988 Florida Beach <br />Management Act with the Florida Department of Environmental Protection, Bureau of Beaches and Coastal <br />Systems. <br /> <br /> <br />
