Summary Minutes:Regular City Commission Meeting May 19,2016 City of Sunny Isles Beach.Florida <br /> 10. RESOLUTIONS <br /> 10A. A Resolution of the City Commission of the City of Sunny Isles Beach,Florida,Authorizing <br /> the Chief of Police,in Accordance with the Comprehensive Crime Control Act of 1984,and <br /> in Accordance with Section 932.7055,F.S.,to Expend Partial Forfeiture Funds from the <br /> Department of Justice (DOJ) for the Purchase of Six (6) Police Vehicles, Two (2) Police <br /> Motorcycles,and All Associated Equipment,Markings and Lighting,and a Prorated Portion <br /> of Costs to Replace the Police/City Hall Telecommunications System,in a Total Amount Not <br /> to Exceed $347,305.48; Providing for an Effective Date. <br /> Action:[City Clerk's Note: Items 10A and 10B were heard together.] City Clerk Hines read <br /> the title, and Captain Michael Grandinetti reported. <br /> Public Speakers: None <br /> Commissioner Aelion moved and Vice Mayor Gatto seconded a motion to approve the <br /> resolution. Resolution No. 2016-2548 was adopted by a voice vote of 5-0 in favor. <br /> 10B. A Resolution of the City Commission of the City of Sunny Isles Beach,Florida,Authorizing <br /> the Purchase of Sixteen (16) Police Vehicles, Two (2) Police Motorcycles, and All <br /> Associated Equipment, Markings and Lighting, in a Total Amount Not to Exceed <br /> $585,979.66, Attached Hereto as Exhibit "A"; Authorizing the City Manager to Do All <br /> Things Necessary to Effectuate this Resolution; Providing For An Effective Date. <br /> Action: [City Clerk's Note: Items 10A and JOB were heard together.] City Clerk Hines <br /> read the title, and Captain Michael Grandinetti reported noting the total cost coming out of <br /> Forfeiture is$266,906.67 for vehicles,the remainder are budgeted vehicles out of this year's <br /> budget. The vehicles are being purchased through the Florida Sheriffs Association Contract. <br /> Public Speakers: None <br /> Commissioner Aelion moved and Vice Mayor Gatto seconded a motion to approve the <br /> resolution. Resolution No. 2016-2549 was adopted by a voice vote of 5-0 in favor. <br /> 10C. A Resolution of the City Commission of the City of Sunny Isles Beach,Florida,Approving <br /> the Donation of up to Fifteen (15) Surplus Philips Automatic External Defibrillators <br /> (AED's) to a Non-Profit Organization, the "Jamaicans Abroad Helping Jamaicans at <br /> Home" (JAHJAH)Foundation;Authorizing the City Manager to Do All Things Necessary <br /> to Effectuate this Resolution; Providing for an Effective Date. <br /> Action: City Clerk Hines read the title, and Captain Michael Grandinetti reported that <br /> JAHJAH is a Foundation that donates medical supplies and equipment, and even expertise <br /> and knowledge to hospitals and medical centers in Jamaica. We have several defibrillators <br /> that we have taken out of service due to age, technology has changed and we have replaced <br /> them over the years. <br /> Public Speakers: None <br /> Commissioner Aelion moved and Commissioner Levin seconded a motion to approve the <br /> resolution. Resolution No. 2016-2550 was adopted by a voice vote of 5-0 in favor. <br /> 7 <br />
