Background and Organizational Structure <br />Background and Organizational Structure <br />Kimley-Horn was founded 49 years ago, in 1967, in <br />Raleigh, North Carolina, by Bob Kimley and Bill Horn. <br />Kimley came out of the NC State Highway Commission <br />and Horn was an engineering professor at North Carolina <br />State University. The expertise of the firm was initially <br />focused on traffic planning and public transportation <br />projects. In the ensuing 49 years, the firm has expanded both geographically and <br />in the variety of planning, engineering, and consulting services that it provides. <br />Today, Kimley-Horn is a full-service, multidisciplinary consulting firm with 2,860 <br />employees in 77 offices nationwide offering a full range of consulting services to <br />local, regional, and international clients. In Florida alone, there are 574 employees <br />in 14 offices.
