Page 6-1
LPPL36016.16-O Sunny Isles Beach Landscape Architect Services.indd
THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH
SERVICES
LANDSCAPE ARCHITECT
6. Minority/Women (M/WBE) Participation
Firm M/WBE Status and M/WBE Utilization
Kimley-Horn has a company policy of meeting or exceeding our clients’ stated minority business participation
goals. Kimley-Horn is not a certified Minority/Women Business Enterprise (M/WBE) or Disadvantaged Business
Enterprise (DBE) firm, but through corporate policies and philosophy, the firm actively seeks to encourage and
promote the use of M/WBE and DBE firms.
We provide interested minority/women firms with the opportunity to serve as a subconsultant on our teams and,
actively seek to increase and update our large database of qualified M/WBE/DBE firms to use on future projects.
Our aggressive M/WBE and DBE utilization policy ensures that Kimley-Horn is furthering the positive economic
development momentum that the state of Florida advocates through the use of M/WBE/DBE businesses by its
contractors.
Kimley-Horn is committed to engaging the services of M/WBEs whenever possible on a project. We believe that
it is important to select M/WBE and DBE firms who are not only qualified, but also have the ability to meet your
specific needs on this contract. Our commitment in retaining M/WBE firms to assist on projects is demonstrated
by the amounts we have paid these firms over the past 10 years (see following table).
Year Total Paid Number of M/WBE and DBE Firms Used
2015 $14.32 million 195
2014 $12.22 million 190
2013 $10.87 million 191
2012 $11.17 million 204
2011 $9.0 million 214
2010 $11.15 million 258
2009 $13.63 million 311
2008 $15.58 million 345
2007 $14.31 million 374
2006 $13.48 million 343
2005 $9.27 million 339
