BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT AND RELEVANCE TO THIS CONTRACT (Include scope, size, and cost.) <br />The Village of Palmetto Bay was awarded a Florida Forest Service Urban <br />and Community Forestry Grant to conduct a tree inventory for its <br />municipal properties and roadway rights of way. E Sciences submitted the <br />willing proposal for the project. <br />For trees located within Village right of way, E Sciences staff collected <br />location information using sub-meter Global Positioning System receivers. <br />Additional information collected for each tree includes the species <br />(common and scientific name), diameter at breast height, a condition <br />rating and a recommendation for maintenance. <br /> <br />The inventory has highlighted the fact that the Village has a very diverse <br />tree canopy with a large variety of shade, ornamental, fruit and spice <br />trees, as well as a large number of different palm species.
