BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT AND RELEVANCE TO THIS CONTRACT (Include scope, size, and cost) <br />The Urban Art Park is a ¼ acre space in the downtown core of Oakland <br />Park. The park is designed to serve as a venue for art and sculpture <br />installations, but also as a passive relaxing urban park space during <br />times when no art is being displayed. The project consists of retrofitted <br />cargo shipping containers that will serve as pavilions/art gallery spaces, <br />a graffiti wall for ever-changing and evolving public art and <br />podiums/seat blocks that will serve as art displays during art <br />installations and exhibits. On street parking, widened pedestrian <br />walkways, enhanced crosswalks and streetscape planting upgrades were <br />included in the scope of the park. The project is currently under <br />construction.
