<br />Public Safety Committee <br /> <br />The mission of the Public Safety Committee would be to develop information and make <br />recommendations to the City Commission on the following areas, which areas may be <br />supplemented over time: <br /> <br />· Transition of police services from Metro Dade Police Department to City of <br />Sunny Isles Beach Police Depa$nent. <br /> <br />· Graffiti control, including prevention, response to graffiti and methods of <br />investigation and punishment of perpetrators. <br /> <br />· Improvement and development of Crime Watch. <br /> <br />· Modern methods of suburban policing and crime control, including: <br /> <br />· community policing concepts <br /> <br />· New York City system for early targeting of crime spree locations <br /> <br />· coordination and cooperation with home security companies <br /> <br />· Vacation Watch and other procedures for protection of vacant premises <br /> <br />· Systems for easy identification of residents. such as the Key Biscayne <br />System for affixing stickers to the back of resident vehicles so that patrol <br />officers recognize residents and non residents <br /> <br />· proper allocation of patrol resources. <br /> <br />MIAMI:F:\DOCS\LMDIML\64770.1 :8/12/97 (4:28pm) <br />
