<br />RESOLUTION NO. 97-12 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY <br />ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF <br />LIABILITY AND WORKER'S COMPENSATION INSURANCE COVERAGE <br />FOR PROTECTION OF THE CITY AND ITS OFFICERS, AGENTS AND <br />EMPLOYEES; PROVIDING DETERMINATION OF IMPRACTICABILITY <br />AS TO COMPETITIVE BIDDING FOR SUCH INSURANCE SERVICES <br />AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, it is necessary for the City of Sunny Isles Beach to obtain liability insurance <br />coverage and worker's compensation insurance coverage so as to protect the City and its officers, <br />agents and employees from liability; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council finds that it is impracticable to solicit competitive bids or <br />proposals for insurance services upon detailed specifications, because of the necessity to <br />immediately obtain and implement such insurance coverage; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council finds that acceptance of the insurance coverage binder <br />submitted by the Florida League of Cities, as attached hereto as Exhibit" A" , is in the best interest <br />of the City of Sunny Isles Beach. <br /> <br />KNOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE <br />CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS; <br /> <br />Section 1. That the liability and worker's compensation insurance binder submitted by the <br />Florida League of Cities, attached hereto and incorporated herein as Exhibit "A", is hereby <br />approved, and the Mayor, David Samson, is hereby authorized to purchase and to accept such <br />insurance coverage on behalf of the City of Sunny Isles Beach, and the appropriation and payment <br />of funds for such insurance is hereby provided. <br /> <br />Section 2.
