John Szerlag, City Manager <br /> <br />FROM: Douglas Haag, Assistant City Manager-Finance <br /> <br />DATE: June 21, 2007 <br /> <br />RE: PROPOSALS FOR AUDIT SERVICES <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Approve the attached resolution and agreement with Rachlin Cohen & Holtz for annual auditing <br />services for the next three years - beginning with FY 2006-07. There is an option for an <br />additional two years for a total of five. The current <br />agreement with Rachlin Cohen & Holtz expired upon completion of the audit for FY 2005-06. <br />The following five firms submitted proposals: <br /> <br />Keefe, McCullough & Co., LLP <br />Alberni Cabarello & Castellanos <br />BKR Garcia & Company <br />Grau & Associates <br />Rachlin Cohen & Holtz <br /> <br />Each of the firms submitted quality proposals and are licensed to do business in the State of <br />Florida. All firms are deemed independent and having no conflict of interest that would impeded <br />their ability to issue an audit on behalf of the City. All firms demonstrated an adequate audit <br />approach and methodology as well as producing professional management letters and some <br />CAFR experience. <br /> <br />However, of the five firms, one firm stood out in terms of municipal experience in the State of <br />Florida. The City's existing auditors - Rachlin Cohen & Holtz - performed 27 municipal audits <br />
