<br />Summary Minutes: Regular City Commission Meeting December 13,2007 <br /> <br />City of Sunny Isles Beach, Florida <br /> <br />Item lOA, Addendum to Letter of Agreement; Item 10D Revised Cover Memo; Item 10L, <br />Revised Exhibit "A" regarding Committee Appointments; and Item l2B, Revised Cover <br />Memo. <br />Action: Mayor Ede1cup noted the above changes to the agenda. <br /> <br />Commissioner Goodman moved and Vice Mayor Thaler seconded a motion to approve the <br />above changes to the agenda. The.motion was approved by a voice vote of 5-0 in favor. <br /> <br />5. SPECIAL PRESENTATIONS <br /> <br />SA. Presentation by Police Chief Fred Maas to D.E.A. Agent Thomas Aiu upon his retirement, <br />along with Sunny Isles Beach Police Master Sergeant Steve Diaz for their dedicated efforts <br />on behalf of the City of Sunny Isles Beach. <br /> <br />Action: [City Clerk's Note: Item 5B heardfirst as Sergeant Diaz was held up in traffic.] <br />Police Chief Fred Maas presented a Plaque to DEA. Agent Thomas Aiu as Honorary Police <br />Chief of Sunny Isles Beach, and commended Sunny Isles Beach Police Master Sergeant <br />Steve Diaz who were partners in a far reaching international organized crime operation. He <br />said for more than three (3) years they have devoted, worked, and sacrificed a great deal in <br />order to bring to fruition that investigation, which is ongoing, and due to the efforts and <br />success of these two men, the DEA, and all the supporting cast, the City of Sunny Isles <br />Beach and this Police Department are in line to receive $7 -l 0 Million Dollars in forfeiture <br />assets. Police Captain Snyder presented their wives with flowers. ChiefMaas also thanked <br />City Manager Szerlag, City Attorney Ottinot, and Assistant City Attorney Fernando <br />Amuchastegui for their support during this operation. <br /> <br />5B. Presentation by Administrative Services Director Alyce Hanson to Winners of the Sunny <br />Isles Beach Photo Contest for the City's 2008 Calendar. <br /> <br />Action: [City Clerk's Note: See action above.] Administrative Services Director Alyce <br />Hanson gave a power point presentation and presented plaques to the six (6) winners of the <br />Sunny Isles Beach Photo Contest: Carmen Boos, Phillip Chernoff, Harry Frahm, Sylvia <br />Leidia, Natalie Uretsky, and William Wallace. Ms. Hanson noted that the 2008 Sunny Isles <br />Beach Calendars will be available the last week in December at no cost. <br /> <br />[City Clerk's Note: Item lOA heard after the Presentations, see action under Item 4A.] <br /> <br />6.
