Summary Minutes: Regular City Commission Meeting <br /> <br />May 21. 2009 <br /> <br />City of Sunny Isles Beach, Florida <br /> <br />Public Speakers: none <br /> <br />Commissioner Scholl moved and V ice Mayor Thaler seconded a motion to approve this <br />resolution. Resolution No. 2009-1418 was adopted by a voice vote of 5-0 in favor. <br /> <br />10J. A Resolution of the City Commission of the City of Sunny Isles Beach, Florida, Authorizing <br />the Payment of $12,000.00 Pursuant to the Interlocal Agreement between the City and <br />the Municipal Undergrounding Utilities Consortium (MUUC), for the City's Share of <br />Legal Fees to Represent Local Governments Before the Public Service Commission, <br />Attached Hereto as Exhibit "A"; Authorizing the City Manager to Do All Things Necessary <br />to Effectuate this Resolution; Providing for an Effective Date. <br /> <br />Action: City Clerk Hines read the title, and Assistant City Manager/Finance Doug Haag <br />reported. <br /> <br />Public Speakers: none <br /> <br />Mayor Edelcup noted that the Consortium has been very effective in dealing with FPL and <br />FDOT, and that this is a voluntary group and contribution of $12,000 of $216,000 that is <br />being assessed for the whole group. <br /> <br />Vice Mayor Thaler moved and Commissioner Brezin seconded a motion to approve this <br />resolution. Resolution No. 2009-1419 was adopted by a voice vote of 5-0 in favor. <br /> <br />10K. A Resolution of the City Commission of the City of Sunny Isles Beach, Florida, Expressing <br />Support for the Use of Biodegradable Trash Bags in the City of Sunny Isles Beach; <br />Authorizing the City Manager to Do All Things Necessary to Effectuate this Resolution; <br />Providing for an Effective Date. <br /> <br />Action: City Clerk Hines read the title, and Acting City Manager Conner reported noting <br />that he is working with our representative from the janitorial service on getting us quotes for <br />several varieties and different approaches to the process. They also recommended that we <br />look at recycled materials used in the bags. <br /> <br />Public Speakers: none <br /> <br />Vice Mayor Thaler asked for a continuing update on where this is and the different cost <br />factors when this is put together. <br /> <br />V ice Mayor Thaler moved and Commissioner Goodman seconded a motion to approve this <br />resolution.
