Sunny Isles Beach does not anticipate any substantial change in <br />the existing residential land use densitylintensity patterns over the next 10-15 years. <br /> <br />How the City has implemented the objectives of each element of the 2000 <br />Comprehensive Plan, as they relate to this issue is shown at the end of this chapter. <br /> <br />Discuss whether there have been changes in circumstances that were not anticipated <br />Discuss whether these changes resulted in either problems or opportunities for the <br />community. Identify actions, including plan amendments that are needed to address the <br />issue. <br /> <br />It is recommended that the Comprehensive Plan be amended to reflect the new growth <br />management legislation, Senate Bill 360, relative to schools, roads, water resources, <br />and affordable housing. <br /> <br />Based upon recent building permit and development trends, the City also realizes that <br />the housing figures in the Plan need to be adjusted to reflect current conditions. It is <br />anticipated there would be enough residential land/units remaining in the City to <br />accommodate future growth. Therefore, the issue of affordable housing should focus on <br />looking at supporting services and facilities to address new household formation and <br />changing demographics.
