<br />CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH 2007 COMPREHENSIVE PLAN <br />EVALUATION AND APPRAISAL REPORT (EAR)-BASED AMENDMENTS <br /> <br />11. Add a new Policy under Objective 7, as follows: <br /> <br />Policy 71. The City of Sunny Isles Beach shall continue to encourage bus shelters, benches and bus stops at <br />appropriate locations, particularly at locations that will generate 20 or more passengers per day. <br /> <br />12. Amend Policy 10B. as follows: <br /> <br />By October 1, 2002, The City shall establish measures requiring future developments to provide sufficient right- <br />of-way necessary to reserve land for existing and future public transportation corridor needs that are rationally <br />related to the impacts of such future developments. <br /> <br />13. Add the following new Policy under Objective 10: <br /> <br />Policy 10E. The City, through its Land Development Regulations, shall require that site plan applications be <br />coordinated with Florida Department of Transportation's (FDOT) District Permits Engineer regarding access <br />management issues on State maintained roadways. <br /> <br />14. Amend Policy llA. as follows: <br /> <br />Policy llA. The City shall analyze the changing market requirements for parking during its study for <br />revitalization of Collins /\venue, Sunny Isles Boule','ard and North Bay Road. The analysis "vill be used on an <br />ongoing basis in order to guide amendments to this element, land use controls, and City policy concerning the <br />supply and management of public parking. within the City. <br /> <br />15. Add the following new Policy under Objective 11: <br /> <br />lIE. Provide a system of "Intercept Parking Facilities" at major arterial roadway access points to the City to <br />provide accessible public parking for regional users of beaches and bay recreational resources as a means of <br />reducing conflicts with private commercial parking facilities meant for exclusive use of retail patrons. <br /> <br />16. Add the following new Policy under Objective 11: <br /> <br />I1F. Provide expanded public parking facilities proximate to regional and community open space and <br />recreational facilities to manage public access to maior events and activities with peak period concentrations of <br />parking demand. <br /> <br />17. Add the following new Policy under Objective 11: <br /> <br />11 G. Provide public parking garages in locations with enhanced roadway accessibility and traffic capacity as <br />pooled public/private off-site parking resources that offer alternatives to large surface parking lots in nearby <br />retail centers. <br /> <br />18. Add a new Policy under Objective 13 as follows: <br /> <br />Policy 13C. The City shall encourage the use of transit or non-motorized transportation options to the <br />maximum extent feasible as a strategy to conserve energy resources and improve air quality. <br /> <br />20 <br />
