access to all long distance and international calls or <br />only to local or specific long distance or international <br />numbers (for example, customers or your organization's <br />branch offices) on a station -by- station basis. <br />Tone and pulse telephones <br />SLT extensions may be either impulse dial (type 500) or <br />DTMF (type 2500). Dialing from pulse SLTs can be <br />converted for outside dialing on DTMF trunks. <br />Trunk groups <br />Trunks defined in a group can be accessed by a single <br />code or dedicated button on the DIGITAL telephone set <br />Up to ten trunk groups can be defined in the DIGITAL <br />KEY BX system, and up to 32 trunk groups can be <br />defined in the DIGITAL 400 system. <br />Trunks <br />The following trunk related parameters apply to the <br />system. <br />Ground start: DIGITAL systems interface with ground <br />or loop start type outside lines via a COG or TI card. <br />Loop start: DIGITAL systems interface with loop start <br />type outside lines via a COL, CHL, COG or TI card, or in <br />the DIGITAL KEy' BX system four ports on the DIPD. <br />TIE line interface: DIGITAL systems interface with TIE <br />lines via an EMU card or a TI /El card. <br />Direct Inward Dial (DID). DIGITAL systems translate <br />incoming dialed digits to enable direct inward dialing to <br />specific extensions. <br />Open loop detection: If supported by the Central Office, <br />DIGITAL systems recognize an open loop state when a <br />call has been placed on hold, and it disconnects the line. <br />Pulse or DTDfF: Each trunk in the DIGITAL systems can <br />be programmed as a pulse or DTDIF trunk. <br />Pulse to DTb1F conversion: When required by certain <br />types of calls over a number of carriers, DIGITAL <br />systems can dial (via LCR) both pulse and DTbIF for a <br />single subscriber number. Pulse to DTMF conversion of <br />52 ' DIGITAL Family Features <br />an outside line can also be included in all types of <br />automatic dialing; that is, speed dial, redial, <br />save /repeat, automatic redial, or on a memory button. <br />Tone detection:'fo enable automatic redial, auto dialer <br />(scanner) and speed dial chaining, DIGITAL systems <br />have call progress tone detectors which can recognize <br />dial tone, busy tone, reorder tone and ringback tone. <br />Battery reverse detection: When connected to an inter- <br />office trunk, DIGITAL systems can detect reverse <br />polarity caused by a closed loop. <br />Uniform call distribution (UCD) <br />The volume of call traffic can be divided equally and <br />fairly among system users to ensure uniform <br />distribution of the call traffic load and quicker response <br />for incoming callers. <br />Voice mail <br />See Voice tnail in Section B, TelradlVpl Voice Mail and <br />Application Server, above. <br />Nall mounting station <br />To free desk space and for ease of operation, all <br />DIGITAL stations are wall - mountable. <br />36 button Add -ot unit <br />The 30 button Add -on unit provides one -touch dialing <br />Of up to 128 Director Numbers and speed dial <br />numbers. Up to four units may be chained together and <br />attached to any Attendant, Executive station or Display <br />Speakerphone set. Alternatively you can shift between <br />the four button maps on a single Add -on unit. With the <br />DIGITAL 400 system, up to eight button maps may be <br />programmed with four assigned to each 36 button Add- <br />on unit. <br />
