<br />RESOLUTION NO. 98-'3l <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, <br />FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO FILE <br />AN APPLICATION FOR A GRANT FROM THE SAFE <br />NEIGHBORHOOD PARKS BOND PROGRAM; <br />AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE DOCUMENTS <br />RELA TING TO THE GRANT AND PROVIDING FOR AN <br />EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Sunny Isles Beach is in need of public parks to provide its citizens <br /> <br />with parks and recreation areas and ocean front access; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City has began to negotiate with several property owners in an attempt to <br /> <br />purchase one or more ocean front lots for such purposes; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Miami-Dade County will be accepting grant applications from municipalities <br /> <br />to grant monies for the purchase of such parks, permits, challenge grants; <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY <br /> <br />OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, as follows: <br /> <br />1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to file an application for a grant from the Safe <br /> <br />Neighborhood Parks Bond program to facilitate the City's effort to purchase park land for <br /> <br />and on behalf of its citizens. <br /> <br />2. The Mayor is hereby authorized to execute any and all such documents relating to the grant. <br /> <br />3. This Resolution shall become effective upon passage. <br /> <br />Grant Resolution <br />
