City of Sunny Isles Beach <br />City Hall, 17070 Collins Avenue, Suite 250 <br />Sunny Isles Beach, Florida <br />DATE: April 23, 1998 <br />TO: Mayor David Samson <br />and City Commissioners <br />FROM: Richard Brown - Morilla <br />City Clerk <br />SUBJECT: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY <br />ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, ADOPTING THE SECURITY PROCEDURES <br />FOR VOTING SYSTEM MANUAL, AND PROVIDING FOR AN <br />EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />We recommend that the City Commission adopt the proposed resolution which ratifies <br />and adopts the Security Procedures for Voting System Manual. <br />REASONS: <br />Section 3.5 of the Municipal Charter of Sunny Isles Beach provides that the City Clerk <br />shall be the supervisor of City elections. State law requires all municipal supervisors of <br />elections to develop written procedures to assure accuracy and security in elections in <br />compliance with Florida Statute 101.015. <br />The Miami -Dade County Supervisor of Elections conducts municipal elections on behalf <br />of our City.
