RESOLUTION NO.98-82 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY <br />ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, GRANTING THE CITY MANAGER <br />AUTHORITY TO ENTER INTO SERVICE AGREEMENTS BY AND <br />BETWEEN THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH AND PROPERTY <br />OWNER(S) WHO MAY PRIVATELY OWN STREETS, ALLEYS AND <br />ROADS AND REQUEST SAME TO BE POLICED BY THE CITY'S POLICE <br />DEPARTMENT; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />WHEREAS, within the corporate limits of the City of Sunny Isles Beach, there are several <br />streets, alleys and roads that are privately owned by the property owners located thereon; and <br />WHEREAS, those private property owners have requested or in the future may request that <br />the City exercise its police powers to provide additional police and security services on those private <br />roads, alleys and streets; <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY <br />OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, AS FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1. For good and valuable consideration, the City Manager is hereby granted authority <br />to enter into service agreements for the policing and provision of security services <br />on such private roads, streets and alleys to residents and homeowners that own said <br />streets and alleys and to allow the City's Police Department to perform such services <br />that in a manner prescribed by the City Manager. <br />Section 2. The Commission authorizes the term of those agreements to be for 12-month periods <br />which may be extended within the discretion of the City Manager. <br />Section 3.
