DATE: June 17, 1999 <br />TO: City Commission <br />FROM: Bob Pushkin, Public Works Superintendent <br />SUBJECT: Re -paving of Golden Shores <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />It is recommended that the City Commission award to H & R Paving, INC. the <br />amount of $63,303.46 for paving of the streets in Golden Shores. <br />REASONS <br />The Public Works Department obtained from Miami -Dade County DERM their <br />engineering estimate of the tonnage of asphalt needed to re -pave Golden Shores <br />streets. The'department then obtained the county's bid list for this type of paving. <br />The department also solicited a bid from the contractor doing the stormwater <br />project in Golden Shores. The stormwater contractor bid $89,250.00 and H & R <br />Paving county bid was $61,643.56. There is an additional charge of $1,659.90 <br />for striping of the 22 intersections after the paving is done.
