<br />RESOLUTION NO. 99- \ L4-g <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, <br />FLORIDA, APPROVING IN CONCEPT ITEMS SET FORTH <br />IN THE LETTER FROM SPILLIS, CANDELA & PARTNERS, <br />INC., AS THE ARCHITECTURAL FIRM RETAINED FOR <br />THE DESIGN OF THE NEW GOVERNMENT CENTER <br />FACILITY ATTACHED AS EXHIBIT "A" AND <br />AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A <br />CONTRACT IN SUBSTANTIALLY THE SAME FORMAT AS <br />THE CONTRACT ATTACHED HERETO AS EXHIBIT <br />"B"WHICH, WHEN COMPLETED, WILL REFLECT <br />SUBSTANTIALLY THE SAME BUSINESS TERMS SET <br />FORTH IN EXHIBIT "A"; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE <br />DATE. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, in accordance with Resolution No. 99-141 passed by the City Commission on <br />June 17, 1999, approving the agreement with the Department of Management Services and the City <br />of Sunny Isles Beach with respect to the proposed government center on Sunny Isles Beach <br />Boulevard; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Department of Management Services has, in the interim, been negotiating <br />as agent for the City of Sunny Isles Beach with Spillis, Candela & Partners, Inc., as the firm the City <br />approved as the design professionals on this project; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, an agreement in concept on the basic terms and conditions as set forth in <br />Exhibit "A" has been reached; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the format of the agreement attached as Exhibit "B" has also been approved <br />as the form to utilize for the contract for these services; , <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE <br />CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1. Approval in Concept. The terms and conditions set forth in the attached letter dated <br />July 7,1999, from Spillis, Candela & Partners, Inc., attached hereto as Exhibit "A", be and the same, <br />are hereby approved. <br /> <br />Section 2. Direction to Execute Contracts. The format of the contract attached hereto as Exhibit <br />"B" when drafted to reflect the terms and conditions as set forth in Exhibit "A" be, and the same is, <br />hereby approved by the City Commission and the City Manager is authorized to execute that contract <br />based on the terms and conditions set forth in the July 7th letter on behalf of the City, provided the <br />contract is approved as to form and legal sufficiency by the City Attorney. <br />
